True Riches 3

Proverbs 13:11: Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.

Stinginess is not the path to true wealth either. Giving to the needy is blessed. Giving to the Lord and His work is blessed. We ought to work to be able to do those things rather than trying to selfishly acquire wealth for ourselves.

Ephesians 4:28: Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

Acts 20:35: I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Malachi 3:10: Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

Please be aware that the blessing is usually not the money. Too much money is a curse. One of my favorite Bible teachers, J. Vernon McGee said he knew the reason the Lord never made him wealthy. He said the Lord could not trust me with it.

Do we entrust things to people who cannot be trusted? Of course not and God doesn*t either.

Luke 16:10: He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.

1 Timothy 6:6: But godliness with contentment is great gain.

Psalms 37:16: A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.

Proverbs 15:16: Better is little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble therewith.

Proverbs 16:8: Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right.
